Sophia who are still unbeaten had Leonard King and the prolific David Weeks at the helm of their destruction. King was in ominous form as he netted a hat-trick (8th, 15th, 35th) while Weeks powerfully breached the defence in the 29th.
Losing 2016 finalist, St Agnes Primary continue to show they are in a train headed to another final after they defeated Goed Fortuin 2-0. First half goals from Darius Chester (12th) and Justin Alcindor (17th) sealed the comfortable victory.
Meanwhile, inaugural champions Marian Academy were pushed to the limit by F.E. Pollard Primary, requiring extra time to find a winner. The Carifesta Avenue unit, who displayed a great level of technicality when they play, found the critical goal from Chad Henry (40+2).

Tensions were brewing with some missed chances by both sides. Stella Maris broke free when Fedel Norville had his first of two important goals in the 27th minute. With the match seeming all but certain for extra time Norville scored again in the 32nd.
More so, the match which had parents biting nails was the School of the Nations and Mae’s Primary clash which the former won 3-2 on penalty kicks.
It was a match built on a tense second half as after Mikhil Mason struck for Mae’s in the 9th and in the 26th, it was all School of the Nations. The duo of Ewart John (27th) and Timothy Braithwaite (40th) then pulled off the stunning heist, rescuing their side’s hopes.
The steamrolling then begun when West Ruimveldt humbled Den Amstel 7-1 with Ian Daniels leading the route with a helmet-trick. Daniels scored in the 3rd, 5th, 16th, 19th while Scyon Sampson (21st, 39th) and Jonathan Andries (31st) added the final touches. Keishan Humphrey was lone scorer for the West Coast unit in the 24th.
St Ambrose Primary were on the receiving end of a thumping when they went down 0-3 to Enterprise. Shamar Richardson (18th, 37th) and Mark Eastman (25th) were architects of destruction.
Additionally, La Parfait Harmonie Primary lost 1-2 to Redeemer due to goals from Kevin George (27th) and Migwell Alexander (37th). Joshua Daniels’ 33rd minute strike was not enough for the West Bank Demerara outfit.
With no more teams being eliminated at this stage, matches will continue on Saturday at same venue from 10:45h. (Akeem Greene)
