Husband charged for hitting wife with knife

A husband who reportedly hit his wife with a knife was on Monday granted ,000 bail when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts charged for assault.
Shawn Charles is accused of unlawfully assaulting Alexis Welcome, occasioning actual bodily harm to her person on August 18, 2017, at East La Penitence in Georgetown. He appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman on Monday. According to prosecution’s case, the accused and the victim share marital ties and on the day in question, they were engaged in an argument, which quickly became physical. Charles reportedly picked up a knife and started to hit his spouse on her face and about her body.
Bail was granted in the sum of ,000. Charles returns to court on August 23.
