Guyana snatch 3 golds

The Guyana Badminton Team has won three gold, two silver and three 3 bronze medals at the Caribbean Regional Badminton Championships 2017 which concluded on Monday. The tournament was being played at the National Racket Centre in Tacarigua, Trinidad from August 10-14.
Playing on the final day of the championships in theUnder-17 Girls Singles Finals, Guyana’s Priyanna Ramdhani lost to Suriname’s Imani Mangroe in their Gold medal clash in a three setter by scores of 2-21, 21-12 and 21-13.

Meanwhile Ramdhani later teamed up with her rival Mangroe in the Under-17 Girls Doubles Finals and together they defeated Suriname’s Faith Sariman and Chaista Soemodipoero in two sets of 21-11and 21-13.
Featuring yet again in the Under-17 Mixed Doubles Semi-Finals; Ramdhani paired with compatriot Tyrese Jeffrey to win Gold as they beat Jair Naipal and Imani Mangroe in straight sets of 21-12 and 21-14.
In the Under-19 Girls Doubles Finals Guyana’s Ambika Ramraj and Suriname’s Shemara Linveld lost to Dominicans Nairobi Jimenez and Bermary Polanco in sets of 21-4 and 21-9.
In a release to the media, the Guyana Badminton Association applauded the performance of the Junior Team coached by Senior Player Narayan Ramdhani.
The Guyanese contingent immediately started playing in the Under-19 Team Tournament which started on Monday (August 14, 2017).
