The men in blue who won the National title in 2014 and 2015, made history of their own by becoming the first team to win the Georgetown Zone for two consecutive years.

The win came in the second minute of the match, as Devon Millington made a solo run down the left side then after which he powered it into the right of the box.

Tucville, who reached this stage for the first time by defeating several former winners, were rattled by the early goal were never able to rebound in the first half.

The entire second half which was played in rain saw a more intensified Tucville but even the likes of Delon Williams, Tefon Daly, Dennis Edwards and recent signing Gerald Gittens found it impossible to find the precious equalizer, as Sparta’s steely defence led by Sheldon Shepherd and Solomon Austin blunted any offensive plays from becoming successful.

For the victory Sparta walked away with $500,000 and the championship trophy while Tucville took $200,000 and the corresponding trophy.

In the third place play-off Back Circle won 3-2 on penalty kicks after the heated game ended in a goalless draw; Back Circle won $150,000 while Broad Street Bullies got $75,000.

Prior to the start final Director of Sport Christopher Jones and Guinness Brand Manager Lee Baptitise and Co- Director of the Petra Organisation, Troy Mendonca meet the teams.
