Region 2 RDC makes donation to young Pomeroon Cricketer

Fourteen year old Lance Roberts from Kabakaburi Amerindian village in Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) can proudly and confidently represent his Region and Guyana at the upcoming Guyana Under-15 tournament in St Lucia.

On Tuesday the Region presented a cheque to the teenager that will assist him in representing the region and his country. The cheque was presented by Region Two’s Chairman Devanand Ramdatt who is part of the region’s Regional Democratic Council (RDC).

Roberts is presently a student at the Anna Regina Multilateral Secondary School. He participated recently in under-15 cricket where he did exceedingly well hence qualifying himself for the tournament in St Lucia.

According to Ramdatt, the RDC is pleased to support the youth in his endeavours. Ramdatt said that the donation will aid in the success of the youngster who has a bright future.

During a simple handing over ceremony conducted in the Chairman’s office, RDC councilours from both the opposition and coalition government wished the teenager well. Present at the handing over was Region Two vice chairman Nandranie Coonjah, PPP\C councilours, Arnold Adams, Beatrice Mittelholzer and Coalition councilour, Julian Cummings.

Roberts expressed gratitude towards the Region Two RDC for the much needed support. He said he will be entering the tournament confident and his aim is to represent Region Two to the fullest. (INDRAWATTIE NATRAM)
