Young Warriors Mash Cup on today

– Massy Industries provides huge gate prize

Massy Industries has provided one table model two burner gas stove will a filled gas bottle as gate prize for the Young Warriors Cricket Club annual fundraiser, Mash Cup 2016. The tournament which was slated for Mash Day, Tuesday February 23, 2016 but was postponed is now set for today at the Cumberland Ground.

At the presentation held recently, David Sookram, Senior Clerk of the New Amsterdam Branch said that his company is please to be associated with this mega event once more. His company is also happy to know that proceeds from this event will go towards the further improvement of the lovely game of cricket.
Sookram took the opportunity to congratulate the club for producing the first World Cup under-19 winning captain in young batting sensation Shimron Hetmyer who successfully led West Indies under 19 team to World Cup glory in Bangladesh.
Collecting the sponsorship cheque on behalf of the club, club coach Hubern Evans thanked Massy Industries for coming on board once again. Special mention was made of branch manager Mark Roopnarine.
This event will form part of Guyana’s 50th Independence Anniversary celebration with proceeds going towards further improvements to the club’s facilities and day to day running. In addition, funds will be allocated to three schools in the No 19 to Gangaram area.
The draw for the first round was done and is as follows:
Canefield vs Gangaram, YWCC vs Seawell, Buski vs Canje Pathfinders, No 19 ‘A’ vs No 19 ‘B’, Betsy Ground vs Goed Bananen Land, Rose Hall Estate vs No 7. Incentives with the value of over $100,000.00 will be up for grabs with lots of gate prizes.
