Two contrasting teams in terms of style of play, will definitely bring some excitement for the final of the Road to Mecca final.
Retrieve Raiders known for their slower pace to the game as well as their post-play will have to combat the high octane Colts team that can light it up from the outside.
Nevertheless, the edge might go to the Colts that can also slow the game down, throw the ball into the post.
Raiders will need their veteran duo of Dwayne Roberts and Neil Marks to be on point for the final if they are to have a chance of winning.
The Raiders’ inside play will need to be crisp in order to generate outside shots for their shoots that will need some room to fire away.
However, Colts will rely on their plethora of guards in Shelroy Thomas, Dave Causway and Stanton Rose to provide the bulk of their offence.
Thomas and Rose’s slashing ability as well as three point stroke will make it difficult for the Raiders to defend especially once both guards find range from downtown.
Shane Webster will also be critical to Colts’ success with his post-game and the Raiders will need to shut down Webster’s offensive game to eliminate the Colts’ best pivot man.
Defence will be key to the final and a physical game should be expected by the fans.
Meanwhile, the Dynas Ravens and last year’s champs Trinity Grid Holding (TGH) Pacesetters will battle for third.
Interestingly enough, the Ravens and the Pacesetters are the last two champions of the tournament which is in its third year.
Both squads will have a bit of a chip on their shoulders since neither have lived up to their respective repetitions. Action is set for a 19:00h start.
