Prolific left hand West Indian and Guyanese batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul has been appointed as the brand ambassador for Texila American University.

The appointment was revealed on Thursday evening at a special press conference at Le Meridian Pegasus Hotel. The contract will last for one year.
Head of Operations at TAU pointed out that it was Chanderpaul’s “quality” and “focus” that was the major drawing point between the two side formulating a relationship to really market the University that has made a remarkable impact on the region and the globe through the delivery of excellence and service in healthcare education, research and innovation in just five short years.
Chanderpaul known for his many runs scoring feats but more so his crab-like stance at the crease was appreciative of the gesture nothing that it is good to represent an institution as extensive and productive as TAU.
“It is good to be recognized by an insutition such as this and it’s great to really give back the community, There is a lot of cricketers here and I know that I can be a part of this brand not just here but in the outlying regions where the organisation exist,” Chanderpaul noted.
Chanderpaul has scored over 20,000 runs in international cricket, and in 2008 he was named as one of the five Cricketers of the Year by the Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack, and as the Player of the Year by the International Cricket Council. On January 23 2016, Chanderpaul announced his retirement from international cricket.
