The final score line read 2-1 but it was a match that proved to be an extremely exciting encounter for fans  as the top two football sides battled for supremacy.
It was the final half where all the action took place as Alpha who ended the match with just nine men on the field took the lead when Anthony Abrams scored in the 59th.
Controversy sprung between the 67th and 70th minutes where Alpha lost three players by red cards for varying reasons, some of which left many baffled as Abrams, Anthony Benfield and Shavane Seaforth were no longer apart of the match.
Julian Wade  then was gifted an easy shot on goal to score in the 71st after Clive Nobrega took a shot from the left and the goal keeper Alex Murray padded  the ball into Wade.
With Alpha looking dejected, the skilful Trayon Bobb knurled his way through the defence to score the winner in the 86th.
In the other match, Fruta Conquerors mauled a listless Monedderlust 4-1. Conquerors goals came off the heels of Shaquille Agard  in the 16th, Jahaal Greaves in the 29th,  Hubert Pedro in the 66th and Jermaine Junior in the 89th.
The League continues today at the Guyana Defence Force ground where Conquerors tackle Singerz from 18:00 hrs and the home side plays Alpha from 20:00h.
