Young Warriors stormed into the semi-finals of the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) Memorex Under-19 two innings cricket thanks to Leg-spinner David Eastman, who spun webs around the Achievers batsmen with a ten wicket match haul to lead his side to a 38-run victory recently.

Playing at the Bush Lot Ground, West Coast Berbice, YWCC won the toss and reached 261 all out due to consistent batting from Berbice youth players Sasenarine Sukhu (64), Trevon Stanislaus (47), Jarron France (42) and Alex Algoo (31).
Bowling for Achievers Akeem Blackman and Joseph Nicholson took three wickets apiece.
Achievers in reply could only muster 161 all out with the top score of 58 coming from the bat of Titus Webster. He got support from Randy Wade (35) and Adrian Ramnarine 23.
Eastman took 8-34 and Aaron Beharry 2-33.
In their second turn at the crease, YWCC batted poorly and was bowled out for 104 with only Sukhu with 27 offering any resistance; Nicholson took six wickets and Blackman four scalps for the Achievers.
Set a target of 206 for victory, Achievers threatened with a solid opening partnership of 89 between Wade (22) and the classy Ramrach (75).
However, when they went, so was the hope of Achievers who were eventually bundled out for 168 Stanislaus led the way with 5-30 and Beharry 3-25 while Eastman picked up two wickets.
YWCC will now play Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club in their semifinal game at Cumberland on March 12 and 13. Actions begin at 10:00hrs.
