Three Lindeners who appeared before Magistrate Clive Nurse on Wednesday charged with assault were granted bail when they appeared at the Linden Magistrate’s Court.
Aidley Nicholas, 25, of Lot 736 One Mile, Wismar, Linden was slapped with the charge of assault causing actual bodily harm. He pleaded not guilty to the charge, which stated that he unlawfully assaulted DeYonne Cornette so as to cause her actual bodily harm on February 21. The incident is alleged to have occurred at One Mile. He was granted $35,000 bail by Magistrate Nurse. Nicholas will make his next court appearance on March 29.
Meanwhile, Debra McAlmont of Block 22, Wismar, Linden was granted $5000 bail by Magistrate Nurse for assaulting a Police Officer with intent to prevent lawful apprehension. She pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that she unlawfully and maliciously assaulted Police Corporal Leon George, at One Mile, Wismar, who was at the time in the process of having her lawfully apprehended. The accused is scheduled to return to court on April 6.
Also appearing before Magistrate Nurse was 18-year-old Kendall Jennings of Lot 151 Wismar Housing Scheme who was granted bail in the sum of $50,000 on separate offences. It is alleged that he unlawfully assaulted Gavin Richards on February 27 at Wismar Housing Scheme. He pleaded not guilty and was granted $25,000 bail.
He is also charged with unlawfully and maliciously damaging Richards’s cellphone valued $15,000 for which he was granted an additional $25,000 bail. The matter was adjourned to April 20.
