Alan Sim Junior, of Lot 860 Paradise Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara, pleaded not guilty to the charge, which alleged that between November 23 and 25, 2015, he helped to destroy evidence against his father, who allegedly murdered Melissa Skeete in a vehicular accident.
It is alleged that the defendant was contacted by his father to clean blood stains and destroy the number plate from the car involved in the incident.
Sim’s lawyer told the Court that contrary to the Police report, his client was wanted by the Police and after the incident, he and his client reported to the Police Headquarters.
He further argued that his client was innocent and the Police had no evidence of him committing the act.
However, the Prosecutor informed the Court that the defendant made several attempts to escape and as such, he was remanded. The case will continue on April 1.
