Slingerz, who dominated the encounter for most of the match, saw their national players Vurlon Mills and Trayon Bobb netting goals.
Mills scored in the 26th and Bobb in the 43rd to practically secure the win in just the first half of the match. Though GFC played with more vigour in the second half, Slingerz still asserted their dominance and could have added more to the score sheet.
In the other match, Fruta Conquerors held off a late surge by Guyana Defense Force (GDF) to win 2-1.
Conquerors, who held controlled the first half of play, saw Jahall Greaves scoring in the 18th and Shaquille Agard in the 35th.
However, it was an encouraging second half display by GDF that sparked interest in the match as Conquerors defense was under immense pressure. GDF finally broke through, which saw Delwin Fraser scoring a neatly composed goal in the 68th.
Fraser, playing on the right-wing, made a quick run when he came on the inside of the center-back, to steer the ball easily into the net.
The League will continue today at the Guyana Defence Force ground with Buxton United playing GFC at 18:00h and Pele tackling GDF from 20:00h.
