Welch’s 4th quarter blitz powers Bulls to win

Terron Welch scored 15 of his 39 points in the fourth quarter to guide his Half Mile Bulls to their win on the first night of the Road to Mecca National Club Basketball Championships on Friday evening at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
Welch, who had a rough first half, scored 21 points in the second half as the Bulls, out of Linden, topped the Amelia’s Ward Jets 81-66. Michael Turner also scored 11 points in the win.

Scoring for the Jets came from Javon Nelson with 19, along with Joel and Allister Webster, who had 15 and 12 points respectively.
Meanwhile, Colts routed Block 22 Flames 80-45 on the back of their stifling defence, holding the Flames to just three points in the second quarter.
Stanton Rose led the Colts with 19 points, while Kurt English had 12 points and Shane Webster 13. Selywn Henry had 10 points for the Flames. Action will continue today at the said venue.
