A North Ruimveldt man was placed on $10,000 bail when he appeared before Magistrate Annette Singh at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts charged with using abusive language to a police corporal.
Shane Kissoon, 26, of Lot 3686 North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, is accused of using abusive language to police Corporal Aloma Simpson on February 22 at Croal and Cornhill Streets, Georgetown.
It was reported that on the day of question Kissoon was allegedly “cussing out” another person at the Route 41 minibus park when the uniformed corporal who was in the vicinity warned him about his behaviour. However, this prompted him to turn his attention to the policewoman and continued his use abusive language to her.
When the charge was read to him in Court, Kissoon pleaded not guilty, telling the court that he was standing and the woman passed and ‘jam’ him which resulted in the confrontation.
He was placed on $10,000 bail while the case was adjourned to March 9.
