Following favourable weather condition over the past week, the highly anticipated semi-final and final of the Busta 20/20 cricket competition for teams on the East Coast of Demerara will be played today at the Enterprise Busta Sports Club.
The two games were originally fixed for last Saturday but a heavy downpour the day before left the ground in a soggy state, forcing the organisers to announce a postponement.
However, the sunshine over the last few days has done wonders to the outfield at Enterprise and, according to chief coordinator of the competition, Jowharilall Jitlall; all systems are in place for two competitive games today.
“Right now the ground is in top condition, the outfield is hard and we can expect two very good games tomorrow [today],” he told this publication on Friday.
Host club Enterprise A have drawn the bye to the final and will face the winner of the Ogle and Fairfield semi-final. The winning team will receive $50,000, while the runner-up will receive half that amount.
