Shameer Baksh Memorial Under-17 cricket competition starts today

The Shameer Baksh Memorial Under-17 cricket competition will commence today with the aim of fulfilling the board’s mandate of identifying every available talent to take Berbice cricket to the next level.

This competition forms part of the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) continued effort to work in aid of the development of cricket in the West Berbice area.

The teams participating will be Berbice Bridge Company Blairmont , Achievers, Shieldstown Sports Club, D’Edward Sports Club, Cotton Tree Die Hard, Bush Lot Sports Club and Blairmont Little Giants.

Players participating for respective teams will have to born after September 1, 1997. The preliminary stage will take a round robin format and the two teams with the most points after preliminaries will contest the final.

Blairmont Little Giants gained a first round bye

Sunday: D’Edward SC vs B/mont Little Giants at D’Edward

Bush Lot SC vs Cotton Tree Die Hard at Bush Lot

Shieldstown SC vs Achievers at Shieldstown

Berbice Bridge Company Blairmont gained a bye
