One in custody for allegedly breaking into Albion house

One man is in police custody after he was implicated in an alleged break and enter and larceny committed on Sukree Nanchipen, 42, of Lot 2 Albion Front, Corentyne, Berbice, which occurred on Friday evening.

The suspect was accused of stealing G$30,000, one gold fingering valued $20,000, two Brazilian gold chains valued $80,000, and other articles.

According to reports received, about 19:20h, the victim, Nanchipen, secured her home and went to visit a relative in the village.

On her return about 19:45h, she discovered her bedroom door wrenched open and a wooden bar removed.

The woman made checks in her home and discovered both bedrooms ransacked and the items mentioned missing.

The police were alerted and acting on information received, they arrested a male from Albion Front, Corentyne, Berbice. The police conducted a search at his home, but none of the stolen articles were recovered. The man is in custody pending investigations.

Police are continuing their investigations.
