Trophy Stall softball tournament bowls off on September 29

– GFSCA prepares for Guyana Softball Cup III

Trophy Stall will sponsor the next nationwide male/female softball tournament, which is a prelude to the Guyana Floodlight Softball Cricket Association (GFSCA) international softball tournament, Guyana Softball Cup III.

Games begin on September 29 at various venues around the country. The tournament will use white balls.

Male and Female Open and Male 40 years and older are the categories players will compete in. The top prizes for the two male categories are $100,000 and a trophy. Runners-up will receive $25,000 and trophy.

On the distaff side, the winner will pocket $50,000 and trophy, and runner-up, $25,000 and trophy.

There will also be prizes for player of the tournament and man of the match in the final.

Teams interested can call Wayne Jones at 650-1790 (Demerara), Khalid Baksh at 618-1905 (Essequibo) and David Looknauth at 618-3717 (Berbice).

Meanwhile, the international tournament will feature teams from New York, Florida, Canada and Guyana. Guyana Softball Cup III will be held in Georgetown at various venues on November 8, 9 and 10, for the finals at the GCC ground, Bourda.
